All course enrollment and completion times are recorded in Central Standard Time (CST). The CE Shop does not have a probation policy in place for courses.
STUDENT IDENTITY VERIFICATION
In addition to utilizing a unique username and password to access student profiles and course materials, each student is required to complete a digital signature at the end of the course attesting to his/her identity. Student accounts cannot be shared. There may be additional student identity verification requirements based on state rules.
EXAMINATIONS
The following terms apply to exams, unless otherwise stated in these Terms and Conditions:
Unit exams are presented at the conclusion of each unit, with a varying number of questions depending on the amount of content contained in each unit. Unit exams can be retaken as many times as necessary.
Students will not be able to proceed to subsequent units in the course until the unit exam in each unit is successfully completed and passed.
Final exams are presented at the conclusion of each course, with a varying number of questions depending on the amount of content contained in the course. Students may take the examination as many times as necessary to achieve a passing score and demonstrate understanding of the material, unless the jurisdiction or education type specifies otherwise. Please refer to the state-specific catalog page(s) for information on the number of final exam attempts, passing percentage required, and proctoring requirements.
If a jurisdiction requires the final course exam to be proctored, the student will be required to use The CE Shop’s third-party electronic proctoring solution at the student's cost, where applicable. The student will need to schedule an appointment with the online proctor in advance. Full details of the online proctoring process can be accessed here.
Some states may require the final course exam to be proctored in person. Full details of the in-person proctoring process can be accessed here.
To maintain academic integrity and uphold examination standards, your final exam session may be recorded using video, audio, and/or screen recording technologies. These recordings will be used solely for proctoring purposes and to investigate any potential incidents of academic misconduct. The student understands that participation in the exam constitutes consent to be recorded.
DIGITAL SIGNATURE COMPLETION REQUIREMENTS
Once all required coursework has been completed, students must certify that they were the student/licensee who completed the coursework. This is accomplished at the end of each course, within our LMS. A course and instructor evaluation is also presented at this time to the student. Once certification has taken place, the student’s certificate of completion is sent to the student via an automated email and is also stored in the student's online account for a minimum of five (5) years unless otherwise stated. Any exceptions to these rules will be provided to the student in the requirement details via the webpage, email instructions, and/or course orientation and completion slides.
COURSE REPORTING
If your course completion is required to be reported to a regulatory agency, please allow a minimum of three (3) business days for the school to report your course completion.
COURSE DELIVERY METHODS
Courses may be delivered via multiple delivery methods. Asynchronous delivery allows students to learn at their own pace and access the course 24/7/365. Synchronous (live online) delivery requires that students are in attendance at a specific place at a specific time (can be online). Flexible Learning is learning that is delivered by paralleling live online course content with our self-paced training course. This delivery method allows students to choose to complete the content via live online or self-paced delivery or a combination of both.

STUDENT RULES OF CONDUCT
Rules of Conduct for NMLS Approved Pre-Licensure (PE) and Continuing Education (CE) Courses
Updated March 20, 2024
The Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act (SAFE ACT) requires that state-licensed MLO’s complete pre-licensing (PE) and continuing education (CE) courses as a condition to be licensed. The SAFE Act also requires that all education completed as a condition for state licensure be NMLS approved. Since 2009 NMLS has established course design, approval, and delivery standards which NMLS approved course providers are required to meet. To further ensure students meet the education requirements of the SAFE Act, NMLS has established Rules of Conduct (ROC). The ROC, which have been approved by the NMLS Mortgage Testing & Education Board, and the NMLS Policy Committee, both of which are comprised of state regulators, are intended to stress that NMLS approved education be delivered and completed with integrity.
Rules of Conduct
NMLS approved course providers are not authorized by NMLS to grant exceptions to these rules and that I alone am responsible for my conduct under these rules. I also understand these rules are in addition to whatever applicable rules the course provider may have set.
Additionally, I understand that the course provider or others may report any alleged violations to NMLS. NMLS may conduct an investigation into alleged violations and may report alleged violations to the state(s) in which I am seeking licensure or maintain licenses, or to other states.
